Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Everyday is different, however generally it involves attending client meetings, preparing client deliverables, researching for client queries and completing client reviews and then discussing these with seniors and refining until they are client ready.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme - there is a really good mix of training and on the job learning. I have been able to get involved in all aspects of VAT which makes everyday really interesting as there is always something new.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have defiantly gained a lot of confidence since joining both in working situations and just generally. Also, I have seen a clear improvement in my communication skills from attending client calls.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is really well structured, I have periods of college and they make it really clear when you will be in and out of office. I also received really good training when I first joined, which made getting involved with work far easier.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support is really good. You are assigned a buddy who is normally only a year or two ahead of you in the program, and also a counsellor who is a manager or above and you are made aware of all necessary contacts you may need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
They are really supportive, offering out of hours advice over email or the tutors are normally happy to discuss something in breaks/lunch or after class if you don't want to bring it up in the session.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It really puts things into place, there are things that you hear in everyday work that make far more sense once you cover it in college - it jut gives context to the situation which can help to see the bigger picture.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I can't really comment on this as I joined when we were in lockdown, however I know that there are quite a few sports teams.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have just really it so far and think it was completely the right decision for me. The people are all so helpful and the set up of the program is really good.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
To be yourself when doing assessments/interviewing because the process is not just about you being a good fit for EY, it should also be about finding out if EY is a good fit for you.
