Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work as a business apprentice within Audit, which involves assisting in audit testing, work documentation and taking minutes of meetings. I work closely with the Seniors on my team and assist them with various tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The program is very intense. Starting in September means that within the first few months of the role you are working through the 'busy season' which involves working 50+ hours a week. To date, I wouldn't describe the program as enjoyable. It has been very informative and helped me develop my skills and knowledge.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt new high level Excel skills which are key to the role. Also, I have further developed my team work skills and analytical skills, both of these I use daily.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program seems to be well structured and organised. The only downfall is that with from working from home due to Covid-19, there hasn't been much support implemented to help the apprentices through the tough start at the firm.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Despite having many support contacts, I have felt that the support from the company has been very minimal. Having started the program during the time of Covid-19 and remote working, I have found that there hasn't been much support for our mental health and wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Kaplan have been a good training provider and have many different options for support. The only con about Kaplan is that they do not offer any additional 1 to 1 tutoring, which I think many students would benefit from.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Having gained knowledge from completing the qualification and learning with Kaplan, it has helped me understand the context behind some of the tasks I am having to complete. As my qualification develops I believe that this will help me perform better within my role.

There are many extra curricular networks at EY. There are many networking events and societies that employees can join.

Why?
EY are a good employer and have many opportunities for their employees. The people who work at EY are all very friendly and welcoming and always make time to support you with queries.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Make sure you properly research into the role and what is involved as many apprentices are shocked when they start as the work and expectations are quite intense. The apprenticeship is a huge step up from college/sixth form, so ensure it is really something you are wanting to do.
