Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Attend meetings, complete work papers, talk to clients, have catch up calls, check samples, pick samples and send out samples. Sometimes there are team socials or calls where you can get the change to get to know each other better. I do A lot of work for clients overall every day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy working with my team as everyone is e super friendly, nice and helpful. The company culture is excellent especially where they allow flexible working as this doesn't make you feel stressed about having external commitments. I enjoy working day to day and like going to work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes I have, I learnt how to use excel as never had before in the past. I also have learnt more people skills such as when emailing in a professional manner. I have also gained a more in depth insight into accounting and how the business world works day to day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Considering everything being online since I started everything has been very well organized and well structured. The induction was well organized and very interactive. The support from mentors and amount of catch ups to see how you are doing are regular as well. Team hierarchy is clear but you never feel like you are less than others.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Each manager on the jobs that i have worked on are very supportive and always make sure that i know what i am doing. The HR team are helpful, however response times are very slow. Accessibility to support is readily available and there are always people you can spea tok
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Accessibility to support is readily available and there are always people you can speak too about training and exam support. There are different ways of contacting the tutors and advisors which is good because you know that you can just pick up the phone and talk to someone if you need.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My learning on my apprenticeship helps me in a day-to-day basis in my role as a lot of the work is theory based and the training gives you a better insigt as to why you are doing the work. I do feel that I know more about my job/role/industry from completing training
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are yearly company events, as well as client events and activities. Both social and work or team building based. You can have 2 days a year to volunteer in the community as well as various sports teams that you can join. When I am not working i like to exercise.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is such a lovely and welcoming company. From starting everyone accepts you and is willing to help you and always makes conversation. The whole application process and everyone that interviewed me were really nice. The company has lots of benefits and are just in general very good to work for.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Do your research into the company before you start the whole process because quite a lot of the questions asked require background knowledge of the company. My assessment day was online so I couldn't really say much about that but I would have liked to have been told that the interviews were very casual.
