Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I am part of a team that provides audit and assurance services. We perform testing on a companies account to make sure the figures that are being produced are accurate and reliable.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
There are good times and bad times. The good times are when your team and the client are friendly, the numbers all match and the day ends at 5pm. The bad times are when there are tough deadlines, a lot to of work do and a lot of late nights.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, I have learnt a huge amount. Skills that I have developed are my Excel and general technology proficiency, teamwork, communication skills and analytical thinking.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The program is well structured. We spend most of our time working on the client audits, a bit of out time in college and on study leave.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive a fair amount of support. There is a system in place where the are various people you can speak to for various issues and most people are very open and friendly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have only taken one exam so far, but the experience was very positive. The tuition was excellent, and the helpfulness of the tutors was also exemplary.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe having a basic understanding is imperative to performing your work accurately so the excellent tuition I received for my first exam really helped me with this.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
I believe there are, but I have never taken part.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall, the experience of earning a salary and starting a job is very important and I believe will be better for my future, despite the hard work and pressure that comes with it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be prepared to work hard, don't try and outsmart the system, and look after your health.
