Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I take care of children in a nursery setting. I am currently in the baby room. I feed, change and look after them. Making sure they have a safe environment to play and help their development.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the programme, I am able to research at my own pace and have to produce documents with the knowledge I have gained. It really helps when I have learnt something new.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed current skills that I have. I am able to run adult led activities and help engage the children whilst we are doing the activity.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised. Especially throughout corona. I am still able to take part in online lessons and have regular contact with my tutor.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get lots of support from my managers. They are friendly and very helpful and are full of ideas for the children.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Always able to contact my tutor if needed. She is very helpful if you need her. Talks me through the work that has been set for that month to ensure I understand what is needed.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Helps me with information, policies and how to improve my work within the setting. When preparing for work to be handed in I read through lots policies, articles or whatever topic is needed, which I can then take what I've learnt to practise at work.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Helpful tutors, online lessons available for extra help. Work that is set is clear and the tutor will always go through the work that's needed to make sure you know what you are doing. Great support.
