Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
- Actual work- working alongside your team and assisting them where necessary. I was given several tasks to help and improve the processes my team used. For example, one task was looking at analysing headcount- how many people have left/joined etc. Another was looking at analysing the Client Alert Data i.e. when clients have issues (looking at what the issues referred to, which employee they were assigned to, time trends, how serious etc). But obviously this was only one aspect of the overall COO book of work.
- Networking- we were really encouraged to network across not only COO but the wider Investment Bank. I would organise 3-5 30 min meetings per week to learn about the different areas within UBS and meet different people. Everyone was super friendly- definitely a highlight of the internship!
- Learning- we were also really encouraged to learn about how the Investment Bank runs, the different areas, products, structure etc. There were lots of great internal resources for this such as the UBS university.
