Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The week is split into having two days at university and three days at work. Work days usually consist of doing projects assigned to me by my manager. I then work collaboratively with them or other team members for further help or guidance if needed. University days consist of lectures and tutorials for the modules taken in the current semester.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the program as there are always ways to find something new to learn, with many at Goldman being keen to help you do so.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Coming from a background with little coding/technology experience, I have been able to effectively develop these skills both at work and university. Work also helps to develop every day softer skills such as effective communication with colleagues and improving time management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I like the mix there is with learning at university and work. There is an effort to ensure it goes smoothly and any feedback given is listened to.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
They are very helpful. From my team members who are happy to answer any questions I have. To my apprentice buddy who have always been very friendly and supportive throughout the process.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
QMUL has overall been good at running the courses helping towards our qualifications. Specifically the courses for only the apprentices as they are much smaller class sizes and well designed around work, helping us to receive more support from them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The modules at QMUL have introduced me to topics and content that I haven't seen before and have been useful for putting things at work into context. The modules have also helped to improve my coding skills which is useful for role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are opportunities to get involved with social/extra-curricular activities at work depending on your interests.
