5/5
As an undergraduate engineer at Dyson, you complete a number of rotations across engineering teams before specialising and choosing a team to stay in for years 3 and 4 of the course. Day to day tasks vary depending on the rotation, but could include, research tasks, data analysis, rig design and building, testing, designing and ideation.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I find my programme very enjoyable and challenging both from an academic and professional stand point

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've developed existing skills as well as learning new ones - Some skills transfer well from A-Levels such as analytical skills, CAD and maths. The most valuable skills I've gained come from working on real projects such as building test rigs, and identifying potential problems in solutions.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is highly structured and organised, there's never been a time where its not clear where we are supposed to be. Timetabling and plans are clear and well communicated
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is an entire team of staff for our course, meaning the support we get is outstanding. Student support advisors are available for any issue, regular 1:1s both with line managers and support advisors are encouraged, academic staff are on hand for all uni work too
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We receive the same amount of degree support as any student at university would get - if not more
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Both aspects of the course enable better performance across all areas, the teaching from the degree is relevant and engaging, while the on-the-job experience gives a chance to apply all of the learning
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There's a wide variety of clubs and groups to join, ranging from sports to faith groups. Some are dedicated for students, while others are company wide.
