Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I have to plan and prepare sets of experiments for pupils in school, take into consideration H&S matters every day, order items for the Science Department, carry out experiments before delivering them to the classroom, keep the Dep. updated regarding H&S matters, work with Finance, Administrator, H&S Officer, Site Staff, etc., monitor the chemical stock, create and update procedures and policies, create exper. method sheets, etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have very much enjoyed it (I have just finished it): my tutor offered me a lot of support, patience and understanding; my work environment was very challenging but, because I had 'survived' it, I have more confidence in myself that I can deal with any situation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my verbal and non-verbal communication skills, my self-confidence, my attention to detail and organisational skills, teamwork skills. I have learned to have courage in changing things and I have had a lot of initiative; I have learned that I can make a difference in pupils' performance, in my colleagues' well-being and in the company. I have learned to make detailed method sheets and to develop lab policies and procedures.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It was very organised and structured: many phone meetings and some face-to-face meetings, many performance objectives, behaviour evaluations, exams and tasks.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a lot of support from my tutor: he showed his availability for any questions, any time; he offered to help with any gaps I consider I have; he offered me support with my Math skills; he made clear what are the next objectives that I needed to accomplish so that I can keep being on the track with my work, etc.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Very much support - see question 5.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that I am capable of so many things thanks to my qualification. I have studied a lot and I have become more and more confident that I can be excellent at my workplace, the best version of myself. Without the structure and content and my hard work, I wouldn't feel that I am good enough.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There have been professional networking events during the first COVID lockdown. Many LMP specialists from different domains put together a series of webinars that focused on: PREVENT, well-being, motivation and performance, the importance of routines, etc., giving to the apprentices the opportunities to address their concerns, questions and to feel that they are not alone during that difficult period.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend LMP Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
This company cares about the wellbeing of the individual as much as their performances. This company understands that performance is not everything, e.g. my line manager had to do four different behaviour evaluations that targeted behaviours such as teamwork, initiative, independent work, etc. This company shows that they are available and open to assist you in your apprenticeship journey.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LMP Group?
This is a wonderful learning opportunity: do not waste it! Have a great attitude towards learning and do not complain about how much work you have to do - it is in your best interest.
