Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I get in at 8:00am. I work across 3 different departments. In some I help prepare for lessons, or support in any way. I also do a lot of filing, printing and sending off letters that need to reach parents of the students. I would look at my email and already have tasks and jobs to do throughout the day. I also support the school in controlling the students on the stairs going down to lunch or break time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy my programme a lot, however there is some things that could be improved. for example, the amount of work I get here and to also have to do soo much apprenticeship work is not balanced. I feel like there is enough on job work without having to have more hours after to finish apprenticeship work. I also don't agree with the pay and the amount of work at work and for the apprenticeship. £500 a month is not enough at all.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills. I have also developed a lot of skills that were weaker. For example, I learnt how to be more formal in emails also face-to-face. I am still currently learning everyday about excel and other computer based programmes. I have gained knowledge on doing an office based job and what to expect when working in a school with students. I have also learnt how to use a programme called "SIMS" which is where I mark the attendance for the students in the school.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
My program is well organised, my mentor and other people I liaise with are very organised. The apprenticeship is well structured however I feel like they don't understand the amount of work that you have to do on a day to day basis and they don't realise its just too much work to keep up with. It's not something you can just do on the spot. Daily or weekly I have to check and do more work when I want to relax.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. Everyone is always attentive to their emails, really organised when it comes to zoom meetings and phone calls. They also don't just support you physically but also mentally. I feel like I really bonded with my mentor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We get good support, monthly zoom calls catching up.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I don't think it helps me that much at all to be fair. Everything I'm learning on the job helps, however I haven't had to use any of the training/
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Because of COVID-19 there hasn't been any activities or sports to do with other members of staff. However there was others in place before COVID began.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Inspire ATA Ltd. to a friend?
No
Why?
I would but the pay is definitely not enough. The amount of apprenticeship work you have to do is too much with also having to do 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday full of on the job work to have to spend time after work and on weekends to complete apprentichip work for £500 a month is definitely not enough at all.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Inspire ATA Ltd.?
Understand that the ratio of work and pay is very uneven and there is too much apprenticeship work.
