Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in a nursery, providing education and fun activities for children. I also ensure they are safe and well looked after whilst in my care and at home.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed doing the tasks given, I found some easier than others, but it was definitely rewarding working toward somthing.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have definitely learnt a lot aswell as refreshing on things I already knew.

It was very well organised, my tutor was fantastic and gave me a lot of support.

I received the support I needed from my employer, regarding questions about safeguarding and data protection.

I received an enormous amount of support which I’m very great full for.

Due to learning new things, I can put that into my work and give advise where needed and comfortably talk about what I’ve learnt.

we have a yearly conference where the whole YMCA organisation joins together for team building activities.

Why?
I received so much support and when I needed to ask any questions, they where answered so quickly meaning I could complete the work given to me. My assessor was fantastic and I am really thankful to her. I completed my NVQ in just over a year and that was thanks to [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] signing off and giving me work quickly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
Definitely apply! I thought the year would go really slowly doing the work, but it went so quickly and once you start doing the work, it’s actually interesting with the things that you learn and things that are just a refresher.
