Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I assist a large team of sales representatives in selling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure on the commercial side of the industry. This involves accompanying them to customer meetings, help prepare customer content, organise trainings for the team members, profiling and building a strong lead basis to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Throughout my internship I felt honoured to have been given so much responsibility in being involved in large deals that Oracle was involved in and was pleased to get a real insight into how the industry works.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Since working at oracle, I have expanded my knowledge on technology and cloud more than I expected. Coming from a degree that wasn’t considered as technical, I was nervous about entering an industry like Oracle, but they helped me in every way possible in broadening my understanding, including offering free training courses and certifications.

I was fortunate enough to have been provided with great managers and amazing mentors throughout my placement which made the year even more fulfilling.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Taking into consideration that my placement was virtual, the team I was involved in made sure to make me feel just as welcome as if we was in the office. Everyone I came into contact with in Oracle was always happy to go the extra mile for you and help you with whatever they could.
