Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work in the Client Office which is a team designed to look at how we can strategically increase revenues from our top clients. On a day-to-day basis, this involves client data analysis, running client campaigns and working closely with our sales force and business management teams to improve that part of our business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I thoroughly enjoy this programme, there is a good balance between on the job learning and education as well as flexibility and support to meet my needs.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I am currently developing stronger analytic skills as well as strong communication skills given that a large part of my role involves interacting with colleagues at all levels of seniority. I am also improving my ability to use initiative to produce impactful work on my own.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think that for the most part it was organised well, however at times communication could have been better between the apprentices and those running the scheme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive an immense level of support, especially from my Line Manager. Everyone at the firm is extremely supportive, the culture is excellent.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Given that a lot of the learning was independent, I do believe that we received a strong level of support from our training provider with frequent catch ups, revision sessions as well as training days to develop certain skills.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I am positive that this qualification has helped me perform better in my role, especially when it comes to the product & industry knowledge side of things.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is an endless list of extra-curricular activities you can get involved in at UBS from sports clubs, committees, networks, action streams - the list goes on.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
UBS has an amazing culture which was completely unexpected. Everyone cares about each other and will go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and supported. It has been such a pleasurable experience for me working there and I look forward to going to work every day.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
I would say to share your interests and show your personality where you can as they value the human side to you not just how well you can perform. Be passionate about why you want the job and show them how much of an asset you would be to the firm. Be confident but remain humble as you do so.
