Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an apprentice our role is to learn as much of the production line as quickly as possible. To achieve this our day-to-day activities include working on the production line, asking a lot of questions and moving onto the next job once we're confidant that a job had been properly learned.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Personally, I enjoy the programme a lot as each day is a new experience and though it can be hard work, we always get expert guidance and support if needed so the programme can be fun and enjoyable rather than stressful and tedious.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

While working as an apprentice, I have developed my teamwork skills, leadership skills my ability to follow instructions, hand-eye coordination, IT skills and many others.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is mostly open and relaxed, all apprentices are given a set of tasks that they need to complete by the end of the year and there are rough deadlines set all through out stating what number of tasks need to be completed by what time. As for what tasks we chose to complete first, thatch entirely up to us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Our employer(s) are very helpful and provide us with all the support that we need both as a group or as individuals. The support provided also extends to personal matters and not just work related issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

As stated previously, as apprentices we are allowed to undertake whatever tasks we wish first, as such the training providers are very relaxed and approachable but that dose not mean that the provide minimal support; quite the opposite in fact. Though training providers are very relaxed they still manage to support us very well by providing more structure should an apprentice so desire or by advising on what tasks are easier to do first.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualifications we revive from our training provided makes us more capable in the workshop and assembly line allowing for more hands-on opportunities and thus accelerate the time it takes us to learn each job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

As the company is a vehicle manufacture and is located quite close to a race track, all staff (including apprentices) get regular invites and discounts do different events held there all year round.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Applying to a large organisation can be scary and sometimes intimidating so the biggest bit of advice I can give anyone reading this is to have confidence in themselves and their abilities; to trust and believe that they will be selected for the interview and that, out of all the applicants, they will be the ones to walk out of the interview with a job.
