Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
- We maintain a comprehensive set of risk thresholds/limits across our counterparty-level credit risk exposures. These portfolio limits are set based on our risk appetite and periodically reviewed and adjusted.
- Counterparty measures capture the current and potential future exposure to an individual counterparty, considering collateral and legally enforceable netting agreements.
- Attend and assess due diligence information conducted on counterparties.
- etc.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Given counterparties to review when deliberating what reviews are ongoing/upcoming. Participating in due diligence calls with counterparties and capturing relevant detail - important for subsequent write-up. Trading approvals with FO can appear in the day to day but there are other opportunities to be client facing aswell.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to UBS
The first section of this review was taken from the UBS annual report 2024. Research UBS, reach out to previous interns/current employees and understand how UBS differentiates itself with its commitments, culture and pillars, etc. It's okay to not know which team you want to work in but it adds weight if you show that you've researched the various areas in Tech, AM, Risk, etc. Be genuine and show your hunger for learning.
