Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
• Responsible for maintaining the working documentation for Paragon’s annual reports and accounts. Pillar III disclosures and half year accounts that led to significant skill progression in MS Word.
• Collaborated with colleagues from departments including Credit Risk, Operations and Facilities to collate the relevant data and analysis needed for each document. Liaised with the Group’s auditors, KPMG, during the year end process, including coordination of data provision and producing key audit documents.
• In charge of collating and analysing data for various disclosures in Paragon’s accounts including supplier payment, gender pay gap and environmental emissions notes, all emerging topics in the financial services industry. I chaired fortnightly IFRS 9 meetings, involving senior members of Group Finance and Credit Risk. I was responsible for taking minutes in which helped develop my understanding of the banking sector and the innerworkings of the month end process of Paragon Bank.
• Wide use of MS Excel which raised my proficiency on this platform, especially in formulas and data analysis.
