Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The vacation scheme consisted of a combination of organised Firm talks/workshops and real-life work from your department. We were also encouraged to reach out to people outside of our department at the Firm. There were also two social events (one virtual and one in-person event).
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
During the course of the vacation scheme, my knowledge regarding the business development side of BCLP definitely improved and I learnt first-hand from partners at the Firm how BCLP operates as a business, including how the Firm wins work from clients.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes. My technical research capabilities definitely improved as I was responsible for a lot of research-based tasks for my team. I also developed my confidence/networking capabilities as I was encouraged to speak to people across the Firm.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
BCLP have a genuinely inclusive culture. This was the consensus among all employees of the Firm that I came into contact with.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed my vacation scheme at BCLP. It was enjoyable having a mixture of organised sessions, real work and the freedom to network with people from across the Firm. It was also great being able to come into the office and meet people in person, including the graduate recruitment team and my fellow vac schemers.

Be yourself! There isn't 'one type' at BCLP and that was made clear to me after meeting people at the Firm and my fellow vac schemers.
