Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Throughout the week there was a range of panel sessions from key business areas such as investment banking, risk, technology and markets. This gave us the opportunity to learn more and ask questions to senior staff members within the organisation.
We partook in group case studies to practice teamwork and prepare for the assessment centre. An external company named Echios took us through all the fundamental concepts needed to navigate a career in finance.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was great as I initially came into the spring week not knowing the area of finance I would be interested in however hearing more from people within the business that actually worked in the role itself it helped me to understand more.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes during the week there was an opportunity to participate in group case studies. This allowed me to practice using the financial knowledge I had learnt in the news and during my studies at university. Afterwards there was an opportunity to present our findings to key stakeholders within the business and receive feedback.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very welcoming and engaging. Throughout the week there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions and engage with employees at the firm. All of them were willinging to share as much information as possible and help out in any way that they could. It definitely reflected the calm japanese culture.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed this insight event to a great extent as I was able to meet a lot of like-minded individuals from a similar background as myself. This allowed me to feel welcomed and get along with my peers quite well.
All the employees at the firm were very kind and welcoming, so it helped to amplify the experience even more.

Research as much as you can about the company and reference how this connects you with the company. It is also great to practice numerical and behavioural assessments, as this is used throughout the companies screening process.
