Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight consisted of two days: one virtual and one in-office. Both days consisted of talks from employees of various experience levels which were insightful and gave me a good understanding of not only tax, but also the culture when working at EY. The second day consisted of a mock assessment centre also with the fellow interns.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
This insight has given me a lot of understanding of the different service lines as well as the sub service lines in tax. I have more knowledge on the different roles within the business, and how EY foster an environment where employees are encouraged to grow and develop as professionals.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed my communication skills, and have learnt the importance of curiosity and engagement whether that is with someone one-on-one, or within a large group. I have also learned about the importance of adaptability and resilience, especially in a fast-paced working environment such as EY.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The overall atmosphere was very friendly and compassionate. There is a real sense of community within the company, and it is clear that employees value each-other and the working environment. There is also a lot of emphasis on representation, especially in terms of diversity and inclusion.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight. While being incredibly insightful, it allowed us to enjoy ourselves without too much pressure. I have developed a lot of skills which will be transferable into my future career.
