Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Was placed in the Security Settlements team in the Frankfurt Office. Was tasked with ensuring settlement of equity and fixed income trades in the German markets in a timely manner. Constant interaction with both internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis to ensure trade settlement.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, a lot. I was treated as full time member of the team. The team was fully dependant on me for a variety of tasked to be completed. I had responsibility over a very of tasks, some of which handled very high risk or high value trades that needed the upmost attention.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
High level of training, support and guidance from the operations division and the settlements team as a whole. Specific mentoring scheme and induction programs to ensure constant support. Very close monitoring from HR throughout the placement for support and guidance.

Very accepting, welcoming culture that valued hard work and effort. Very rewarding atmosphere and pleasant working environment which challenged you to progress regularly.

I could not have asked for a better placement. High quality of work with a great level of responsibility. Pleasant working environment with a great team to work with. Very enjoyable time and rewarding experience.
