Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role primarily involved designing, developing, and testing software solutions for internal projects. On a day-to-day basis, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to write and maintain code, troubleshoot issues, and optimize existing systems. I attended daily stand-ups, contributed to code reviews, and worked with tools like Git, Jenkins, and Jira for version control, continuous integration, and task management

Yes, during my placement at Nomura Holding Inc., I was given a considerable amount of responsibility. I worked on critical software projects that directly contributed to the company’s operations.

I significantly developed my existing skills and acquired new ones. I enhanced my proficiency in programming languages such as Python and TypeScript, and improved my understanding of software development methodologies like Agile. My 12-month Technology placement at Nomura was a really rewarding experience. The recruitment process was smooth and well-organized, with the team communicating the next steps clearly and adhering to their timelines.
During my time there, I worked with a collaborative and supportive team that was always willing to guide and share knowledge. The projects I worked on were challenging and allowed me to develop both technically and professionally.
