Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked within PMO roles and Business Change roles.
For PMO, my role involved activities such as status reporting, RAID logs, deliverable tracker, design authority content creation, microsoft project plan creation and upkeep.
For Business Change, my role involved supporting in creating a change impact assessment and conducting a thematic analysis for that.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was surprised at how much responsibility you are given as a junior employee. You get to develop and own numerous pieces as work as well as often being client facing in certain roles.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Deloitte's placement programme wasn't great, there was a lot of ambiguity, confusion and sometimes bad planning. A high percentage of placement students spent their first 3-4 months at Deloitte without a project due to poor planning with resourcing. There was also lots of misinformation given around holidays and return offers.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Deloitte's people are the best. I made so many strong connections and people are so chatty and personable. I felt like I slotted right in right from my first day.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I spent my first 4 months without a project. This made me extremely dislike my placement and often made me reconsider if I'f made the right choice. However, when I started getting put on projects I absolutely loved it and was so glad I stuck it out. I learnt so much and met some amazing people.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Network, Network, Network! Everything you do at Deloitte is centred around the connections you make. From project opportunities to friendly faces in the office. Had I focussed more on networking from my first day I may not have spent so long without a project.
