Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Creating high quality slides to clearly convey the best solution to the client based on your findings. These finds are backed by data through analysis using data visualisation tools such as PowerBi and Tableau. You can also use SQL, python and excel to analyse through the data to find patterns and data that backs your argument.
You also liaise with the client on a frequent basis allowing you to make sure your final deliverable is as they expect.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given the responsibility of running the internal consulting resource management as well as creating deliverables for potential clients. This including showcasing Deloittes skill set and previous projects that align with theirs.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I was able to sharpen my Python and SQL skills in a business environment with a real project. But I was also able to learn about different data visualisation tools such as PowerBi and Tableau. I also worked with data warehouses such as snowflake which I wouldn’t have been able to do so in university.

I always had someone I can ask questions to as well a central point of contact that can support me through different situations. On top of all this I was given a previous placement student who guided me through joining Deloitte.

Everyone is very and happy to have a coffee chat with you. The culture is very open to new people especially people that want to learn more and progress their career.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
It was really enjoyable especially with a inital training allowing me to be prepared for the world of consulting. There were also many socials for new joiners and specific projects.
