Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day to day there is a mixture of admin roles and practical testing. The internal testing and quality monitoring is how we as a team check to see what the products are like from a customer perspective. I will go out and shop for products from all different supermarkets so that what we test is not factory examples but actual examples that customers will buy. I also spend a lot of time setting up testing on our online portal so that these can be carried out by an external company.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I have been given plenty of tasks which require a level of responsibility but i do always have a co-worker behind me when i need extra help or reassurance.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Its a small team within a larger team, the smaller team is really close and very happy. The wider team- i still haven't met everyone properly because its so big and we work hybrid so miss each other in the office. But the culture is to be supportive, call out anything we aren't happy with and everyone is super friendly.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I am still doing my placement but i am thoroughly enjoying it, the incites into retail on all levels is fascinating. I think that mostly i enjoy working with the food products, getting to try them, seeing how they compare to what they should be like and then seeing how our customers enjoy them. I also really enjoy getting to talk to people from so many different areas of the business both in food and the wider company.
