Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Provided an opportunity to learn of the accountancy and business industry, whilst also experiencing first hand the culture and values of BDO. Learn how the company operates and helps the wider community. On a day-to-day basis, we were involved in networking sessions with other interns and provided with the opportunity to speak to trainees. Also attend lectures on the basics/foundations of auditing.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Having now be able to understand the business and different streams of service, I am now able to reflect and decide upon if this is a career suitable for me

I have been able to further develop my team work skills, networking and communication skills. In addition, I had the opportunity to enhance my presentation skills and also increase my confidence.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company's culture and values really shone through, during this insight, and they really are about ensuring not only the company succeeds, but that this is made possible by ensuring their employees succeed (and they do so by providing the opportunity to continually learn/develop, through their robust training schemes and support measures). The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and friendly, as were the people I encountered during my week at BDO.

Be yourself and show truly who you are as a person, they really are all about their people. Allow your passion for the work the company does and the company itself to show, as they really do value the differing experiences and backgrounds of others.
