Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The main responsibility for a transport coordinator consists in overseeing the shipping of goods. This includes monitoring deliveries based on shipment agreements, ensuring on time delivery of goods for which communication with hauliers, material planners and material controllers is essential, checking the needs of production as well as checking the availability of parts in the stocks and prioritizing the offload of certain vehicles to ensure the safety of the immediate production
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, as I surprisingly picked up the job pretty quickly and started to feel very comfortable in my daily tasks, I asked for more workload, which came with more responsibilities that I was more than happy to manage. Furthermore, my managers always mede sure that I knew I could count on their support if needed.
