Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Working within client teams, completing audit tests and writing work papers, taking evidence from client calls.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
There was lots of support provided throughout the placement, including IT inductions to understand the platforms used for internal operations. Also an excel course, teaching all the essential skills that would be required to complete testing and work tasks throughout the placement. There were weekly catch up calls with the whole cohort, focussing on specific skills for example communication, and use of AI.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was so lovely and welcoming, from all levels of the business. It was encouraged to reach out to anyone and everyone via email or instant message to gain insight about a specific business area or project. After work socials and lunches together were frequent. Mental health was a big topic, and there were spaces in the office to take some time out as well as a wellbeing team who were easily contactable.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I absolutely loved the whole experience. I enjoyed the work itself, the work culture, the people, the office. I cannot recommend the placement enough - I learnt so much and built so much confidence both personally and professionally.

Be yourself and take full advantage of all the doors it can open. Understand that this is an opportunity to learn about lots of different roles and business areas, not just the one you’re working in.
