Each day commences with a team meeting to discuss progress and delegate tasks. Daily responsibilities encompass client communication, data sampling and testing, and conducting thorough analytical reviews.

During peak periods, placement students play a crucial role in meeting critical deadlines, often requiring additional hours and flexibility in work location. Timely completion of tasks is essential during these busy periods.

Communication: Clear and concise written and verbal communication with clients and team members.
Teamwork: Collaborative skills developed through working closely with audit teams.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
Problem-Solving: Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and address audit issues.
Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft excel and other audit software's.

The camaraderie among fellow graduate students at Deloitte proved invaluable, especially during demanding peak seasons. The support system provided by peers, both professionally and personally, was essential to navigating the challenges of busy periods and maintaining well-being.
While experiences can vary, support from certain members of management during busy season was below expectations. Management have little empathy for you if you can not complete work to deadlines. In some instances, I felt pressure from management was too large.

The general atmosphere at Deloitte is quite positive, with the company providing many socials, its a great place to make life long friends.
Deloitte has a very hard working culture; in busy season most employees prioritise work above all else which causes burn out risk. Additionally, in busy season there is a rigid focus on long hours and constant availability which doesn't suit all employees.

Outside of busy season, I have really enjoyed the placement. Deloitte have provided me with an invaluable learning experience of the industry. In addition to this, I have made life long friends at Deloitte.
However, during busy season I didn't get much enjoyment from the placement. The long hours and high expectations left me feeling stressed and unhappy.
