Industrial Placement Consulting Analyst Review

My role is a technology consulting analyst specifically in the Oracle department. I undertake projects with my team to help clients with financial transformations including the implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP and other Oracle Applications.
On a day-to-day basis this consists managing excel spreadsheets and trackers to efficiently manage the status of the project and meet target deadlines. It also includes working on deliverables such as slide decks and even the occasional coding work.

yes I was given a great deal more responsibility than I expected and I think that this really allowed to be able to demonstrate my abilities and also develop my learning much faster. On all projects that I worked out I was an owner of a large piece of work or a deliverable that had tangible benefit for the client.

I have learnt many new skills such as how to hold effective client workshops, how to manage expectations with my team and how to work collaboratively with both my internal team and the client. I have even learnt a new coding language which I had no previous experience with (JavaScript / NodeJS)
I have also greatly developed my existing skills such as Excel, Powerpoint, Coding, time management massively as I have had to use them so frequently over the placement.

I always had support from my team and support networks that Deloitte helped to set up. Team members were always sure to check on the work I was doing and aid me anywhere I was having trouble. I never felt like there was a huge responsibility on me alone as there was always people to help get the task done.

great atmosphere within Deloitte. Despite the job being hybrid, it is always nice to be in the office and around the team as it creates a great atmosphere and everyone is really nice. The culture is also great and there are a range of networks dedicated to different cultures that put on events throughout the year and are great to get involved in.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. I feel as though I have learnt so much and developed so many skills that will be very useful in building my career and also helping me finish my last year of university. It was been a wonderful year and I hope to be able to come back to Deloitte as soon as possible.
