Management Consultant Review

Daily tasks revolve primarily on your project and industry. As a technology consulting my role involved:
- Data modelling and analysis
- Client presentations and workshops
- Minutes writing and secretariat responsibilities
- Facilitating cadence based meetings
- Updating risk and dependency logs
- Slide creation
- Reporting

There was plenty of opportunity to gain responsibilities. I was on a 7+ month project in which ownership of tasks and processes increased continually. Additionally, personal and business development activities are varied, and allow the opportunity to provide creative thinking and continuous improvement.

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel were used primarily throughout my time at Deloitte.
However, there were additional technologies that I had opportunity to learn such as JIRA and Power BI.
Soft skills such as presentation, expectation management, feedback collection, written & verbal communication, and teamworking were also used and developed heavily.

The project team, early talent team, and colleagues around me provided a large amount of support over my time at Deloitte. There is a high focus on personal development, and a support network for mental health. I had a close network that provided me with industry knowledge to carry out day-to-day activities.

At Deloitte there is a culture of inclusion, personal development, strong network, and diversity of both skills and background. There is an expectation to improve and develop as a consultant, and perform to a high standard also.

I enjoyed my placement thoroughly. Working on client facing projects with large organisations gives you valuable industry exposure and experiences. Participating in diverse engagements allows insight into the breadth of work undertaken by Deloitte. Social and volunteering opportunities brought further enjoyment to my time at Deloitte.
