Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Advising companies on how work better. Everyday is different and brings different task but common themes are building powerpoint decks and speaking to stakeholders.Quite project management based work.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes lots of responsibility to own important documents and autonomy to reach out and speak to senior stakeholders in both Deloitte and the client I am working for. Responsibility to produce status reports on time.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
My skills in powerpoint and excel have been developed as well as how to act professionally and interact with senior stakeholders. Project management and organisational skills also improved.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Lots of training at the start - 8 weeks but then was put on a busy and high profile project where I felt that people didn't have so much time to train me up so lots was learning on the job and working it out for myself. Lots of access to online courses but not given time during working hours to do them.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Good - people were friendly and welcoming and I wasn't treated any differently from other grads and people at the firm.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
It was good and I liked that I was given plenty of responsibility and treated like a more experienced member of the team. I ended up staying on one project the whole time so would have much preferred more variety to see different areas of the business.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Be prepared as the application process is very selective and tough so do your research and practice. Look into the different business areas and pick wisely as it is difficult to move within.
