Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role involved the production of tax accounts for clients. On a day to day basis my role involved helping in the production of tax accounts for clients including mapping their trial balance and referencing tax comps.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I was involved in sending off information requests to clients. And given responsibility in organising things for the team such as a weekly quiz.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes I’ve improved my existing skills using Microsoft excel. I’ve also learned how to use PDF editor to reference tax comps and use EY’s beehive to send off information requests to clients along with mapping a trial balance to the chart of accounts.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a good amount of support. I had a buddy who helped me to integrate with the team and helped me with any questions that I had. I also had weekly sessions with a councillor who would provide support throughout my internship.

The company culture was great my team were very helpful with any questions that I had, including lots of socials to help integrate in the team.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement a lot. It was a great experience to learn about the role I was interested in. The team I had to work with were also very welcoming and friendly.
