Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I sat in the SAP+ team so we would work on unit tests for a piece of software. Basically we tested the software from a user perspective to make sure the customisations we made for the business work as expected. Attending meetings with your team and PowerPoint are other common activities.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was not given a huge amount of responsibility given the technical nature of the role, however, I was able to assist in a supportive role. I am happy that I built so much knowledge so if I come back for a grad role I will be able to get stuck in.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I learnt a lot about financial accounting as this was the are I sat in within SAP+. I have learnt lots over the last 6 weeks but I have also developed my interpersonal skills such as networking. Networking is highly encouraged.

There is lots of support provided. You have a buddy, mentor, manager and people leader all supporting you. Questions are heavily encouraged as this is how you learn.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone is very friendly and much more relaxed than I had imagined. There are lots of socials organised which is a great opportunity to meet the other interns and also engage in some networking.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement. It was a little dull at times but overall the people were so lovely and the work was not overly challenging. The work life balance is good.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Just be yourself. Make sure you do your research on the different areas before and pick one you want to do most as once you begin work it can be challenging to change departments.
