Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Two week internship, receiving investment banking and global markets trainings. Each intern is allocated to a desk in the IBD and will shadow the specific desk for the two weeks. A project related to your desk will be assigned and must be presented at the end of the internship.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It helped me discover so many roles inside the IBD that I wasn’t familiar with. It helped me get a glimpse of what people in each role do and decide my career path.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes! I learned a lot about investment banking and global markets. We also got to understand what differentiates the firm from others and network with people from different divisions in the bank. We had excel, accounting, public speaking and communication lessons, which were extremely helpful.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture was amazing. Everyone was so happy to have us there and were committed to helping us. We could schedule coffee chats with different employees and they were all happy to meet you and guide you through the process. We were assigned a buddy and a mentor, which also helped us navigate our way through.
