Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The first week we did Desk time with our team while the second one we did training, communication sessions, overview of Investment Banking and Global Markets
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really great. Being this insight longer than others you get to experience what it is like to be on the desk and you can also talk to many different people in different desks. You really get to know the different opportunities the firm offers

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learned many things about the industry, the company, the reality of working in Investment Banking and what the day to day is like on the job, therefore I really improved my industry-specific skills. I also learned many skills about Excel and PowerPoint and the Communication/ Presentation techniques.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture really seems great. Everyone was kind, available to talk to me about their experiences and career journey.
It didn’t feel like a toxic environment, but a place where everyone enjoys what they are doing and is able to create deep connections with coworkers.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really loved the experience. It was the right mix of Desk time and being able to get to know your team but there was also time for training and other interesting workshops and networking.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nomura
Polish your CV and tailor it to the application and the firm. Pay attention to the online application and the questions they ask, put effort into those as well. Research the firm and its business before the interview.
