Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
On a day to day basis, we took part in various sessions where different engineers and quants from a range of different areas of the business explained in detail the ever-changing role of technology in their specific function. We were also given a team project in which we had to complete a python based task using some of Goldman Sachs' internal APIs.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a lot to take in as there was so much new information but there was always someone on hand to ask questions to and verify our understanding. Additionally, we were given the ability to email and arrange meetings with anybody across Goldman Sachs which was great.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Developed my understanding of python based object-oriented programming and learned how to work on a code-based collaboratively without a version control system. I developed my professional verbal and written communication skills.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was very friendly and all the employees were very welcoming and accommodating. There was a real sense of teamwork and that all the employees want to see each other succeed. It was clear that everyone's perspectives were important in the functioning of the business and that the employees were truly valued by the firm.
