Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked on an Engineering project under Global Markets Engineering, in which we implemented
a hedging strategy for commodities futures (Strategies) and developed risk management
tools in Python and Jupyter Notebook (Software Engineering). Day to day involving working on the project, going to meetings and networking.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

We were given responsibility of a project which we had to arrange meetings for and finish in time. Also given responsibility of making the most out of the internship which involved reaching out and meeting as many people as possible.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Developed networking skills, communication skills whilst working on the project as the team consisted of people from all around the world hence timing would be an issue sometimes. Learn about tech at a bank and how they lead the way in tech.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

We had a buddy who helped us with anything we needed for the internship as a whole. We were also give a advisor for the project who helped as understand the project and acted as our main source of knowledge.
