Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

I worked alongside managers and the team to work on different stages of the audit process for our client. This involved the use of the EMS software, excel and word. I had also participated in team meetings every day and had the opportunity to contact the client.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was very interesting learning about the business and I asked a lot of questions about the roles available, such as the version of the ACA/ICAEW you are put onto/choose to go onto in the graduate role. It definitely helped me figure out the graduate role I wanted to be in

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I definitely developed my confidence by interacting with more people daily, I developed some knowledge about audit seeing as I didn’t have much prior to the internship and I also gained skills on how to use EMS. I also learnt new skills in excel.

It was a very friendly atmosphere, everyone was there to help you. It was a very team-working environment to be in.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

I had the best time at my internship, I really enjoyed it. I got offered a graduate job and I had no hesitation to say yes, I am really looking forward to going back.
