Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight started with a 2-day introduction to the company and the business line where we had the opportunity to network with other interns from across the UK. After that we were invited to the office in our chosen location and underwent training regarding our business line. We were then assigned to different teams and projects which we were working on until the end of our placement. We were given different tasks daily, so we had the opportunity to work with different people from our team at Deloitte. We observed client meetings and had the opportunity to speak to clients directly.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I gained a thorough understating of the business and the potential roles available. I was able to work on 4 different projects on companies from different industries, which exposed me a wide range of opportunities at Deloitte.

I learnt skills related to the business line I interned in and I developed my interpersonal skills by having the opportunity to network with different professionals at Deloitte ranging from associates to partners.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very welcoming and focused on building interpersonal relationships. Emphasis was stressed on the importance of learning new things everyday and being flexible.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I greatly enjoyed the insight because I was able to meet a lot of inspiring people that offered useful advice and helped me grow my skills and knowledge during the placement. I gained insight into the industry which helped me get a clear idea of my future career aspirations.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
I would advise them to research their business line and the opportunities it offers. I would advise them to be proactive and ask questions in order to learn as much as they can about the company and its culture. I would advise them to showcase their unique strengths and motivation to take the role during interviews.
