Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working within a team to complete an audit by undertaking tasks such as asset verification, checking draft financial statements and completing other testing to ensure that the company is truthfully reporting their financial position
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given plenty of responsibility and left alone to do important tasks making me feel more valued and trusted. Although not left in the dark, with colleagues regularly checking in on me to see I needed any help.

Working as part of a team and under time pressure along with working with other people of all different ages, I have also learned that it’s not expected that you know everything and that everyone around you can help.

Plenty. For every task I was clearly walked through what I needed to do and how to complete it and if I got stuck or was unsure, I could either ask anyone around me or teams chat a colleague.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very inclusive. From day one everyone tried to engage with me and involve me with what was going on in the office including breakfasts and socials. It was also a hard working and professional environment but not to intense to make me feel stressed.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed me internship, and found the work interesting but also challenging to keep me on my toes. Although being in a regional office combined with online working did make it feel a little quiet at times.

Practice online assessment centres and make sure you have a good understanding of the area you are applying to with possible experience in that field. But be yourself.
