Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked within DevOps team where I explored both front-end and back-end and contributed to UI refinement tasks, creating api endpoints, improving testing, code optimization and more..

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, my tasks were meaningful, although on a much smaller scale, I was still able to leave a lasting imprint on my team's project. It was still fulfilling to know I had autonomy over the tasks I was given and was treated like an actual employee.

Expanded my knowledge in RESTful Principles, APIs, Testing & QA & debugging, Data modelling, exception handling, Spring boot architecture, CI/CD foundations.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

There overall is a lot of support offered. It might vary from team to team, few managers are new and are inexperienced with interns so you would have to chase them up for support you need, but generally everyone else is really approachable and always willing to help.
