Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working within Global Markets is a varied and exciting role - no two days are the same. Tasks would include current analyst tasks, research presentations on a variety of topics as well as shadowing client meetings.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, given responsibility for real tasks day to day which would be used for clients. Truly felt I was making contributions important to the team.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Developed a number of new skills, and improved a lot of existing. Probably too many to list but one key to note is the ability to target your presentations/emails/communication to who it is designed for. Confidence, Business Acumen, Excel/Technical Skills amongst other developed.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Plenty of support, weekly meetings with managers/coworkers to discuss progress. HR additionally were there throughout with support weekly and are available anytime for questions. Additionally, there is a real open culture at Wells Fargo, which means everyone is approachable and many times I would meet new people from different business lines who would give me useful guidance/advice.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very open, particularly in Markets with a very flat structure. It speaks volumes that as an intern you are able to meet senior MD's/leaders for coffee's to discuss their businesses and get advice. This is very unusual for a bank. People are very approachable, yet all driven towards a target which creates an excellent working atmosphere.
