Data & AI Analyst Review

As an Industrial Placement Student, my day to day role varies. I am always juggling multiple pieces of work at a time, so sometimes you work more on certain things than others - all circumstantial.
I have a variety of roles, some are internal; organising events for colleagues in my Op-Unit, supporting the creation of resources like accelerators and assets for Deloitte to use for future clients, and others are client facing; where I will work with my client team to create and put forwards deliverables in our project.

Even the lowest grade levels are given a huge amount of responsibility. If you are given work to do by anyone, you are accountable and responsible for its success - even the more senior grades are trusting you with trying your best on everything you do.
You are also expected to continuously want to exceed, develop and take on more roles so you can learn through experience.

I have learnt so many "soft consulting skills". These vary all the way from technical skills like python, SQL, Tableu etc to learning how to create high quality PowerPoint presentations, Excel files and Word documents.
Most of all I learnt how to communicate like a consultant! Its like a whole new language that you can only pick up once you are immersed in it, its confusing at first but you learn as you go. And you learn how to talk to and address different levels of seniority within the firm.

So much! You are given Buddies and Mentors just before you join and from the day you join for at least a 3month period (respectively). These are informal points of contact that you can learn the ins and outs of the firm in a safe environment with people who have been in your situation relatively recently.
Then you have People Leaders who look after your career more formally. They represent you in year end reviews (which determine your promotions) and keep you aligned to your goals and objectives throughout your time, so you can continuously develop - they tend to be quite more senior than you so you can learn from their experience.

The company culture had an incredibly advanced and modern outlook on work/life balance, everyone is respected for their personal commitments and promotes you to learn how to set your boundaries. Every team I was in and the friends I have made have all been looking out for each other - everyone wants everyone to succeed, and thats how our company grows better and better each year.

I have never developed and learned more about myself than I did during this year. It has been a monumental experience to the "real life" of work and where I can actually take my career.
I have made amazing connections with people from all works of life that I know I can rely on for support in the future - no matter how far down the line.
I am keen to go back to university and enjoy my final year to its full extent, now knowing whats out there - and hopefully coming back with a graduate offer!
