Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As the IT intern, I am involved in setting up and maintaining meeting room equipment, creating new apps to help digitalise processes at JDE and looking after network issues. On a day to day basis, I problem solve any sort of generic IT problems that other employees may approach me with.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was responsible for the functionality of devices and technical equipment that is essentially used. At the same time, I was fully supported and free to ask as many questions as needed because they understand we are just interns with little experience in the real world. I was contributing to projects that were actually implemented and given freedom to approach it how I would like to.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed a lot of my trouble shooting skills and inquisitive thinking. I am constantly given the opportunity to join and shadow any sort of projects that I take an interest in - which is very exciting. Also, it builds communication as you have to discuss problems with people and understanding where potential technical issues interlink.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received loads of support and everyone was super approachable from the start of the interview process, the onboarding process and all through out the experience. I never felt that I was unable to ask for help.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is very friendly and everyone says hello while walking around doing their daily jobs. General atmosphere is relaxed.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Great place to comfortably understand what a real work place is like and what will be expected of you. But it also is a very chill place to enjoy your role and work with other interns.
