Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I was mainly involved in creating and updating marketing materials for pitches, e.g. profiles and shorter books. I got exclusively staffed on short-term projects. Other common tasks I had to include updating transaction comparables databases and looking up broker notes for companies the team was following closely.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
We had multiple presentations on different areas of the banks. The presentations gave you a global picture of how the different teams allow the bank to keep functioning.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed my technical skills mainly through my intern project. We had to use different valuation techinques (e.g. DCF, LBO, transaction and trading comps) to evaluate a transaction. The project also helped to develop my research skills when trying to investigate specifics about the companies and markets.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The general atmosphere was great. We had drinks on the terrace every Thursday and the teams try to go out together at least once every week.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the insight, however I felt that the workload was not managed in the best way. Some interns had too much to do, while others had nothing to do for weeks at a time.
