Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I was a production support analyst in Nomura Wholesale Production Services (WPS) division. My daily work entailed diagnosing and resolving issues in complex system flows, investigating previously unknown issues, all while interacting with traders or other business staff in a fast-paced environment, maintaining good communication with system developers, and gaining technical knowledge in order to get the & big picture and disseminate information to find a solution to system issues.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learnt how to troubleshoot because there are several difficulties that occur in production environments that create mistakes and outages in the systems. So I used troubleshooting, which is a methodical way to resolving the problem. I utilised a number of UNIX commands to figure out what was causing the problem in the system, thus I had to analyse the process logs with UNIX commands. I also learned SQL, which I used to deal with a large number of data requests from system users.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
My teammates were all extremely friendly and helpful. I never had trouble getting help from anyone and was even able to phone my manager and freely ask him questions. Everyone works well together and includes me in their meetings.I was never stuck on a problem because my team was always willing to assist and advise me.
