Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Creating supplier information packs that include anaylsis of suppliers performance.
I also use many other tools to measure supplier's progress, including Level 1 avoidance measures and LPKM scoring.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I believe so. I have been able to set up meetings and speak with suppliers about their performance. I have also had to create packs for senior members of management for supplier visits.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I have been incredibly lucky to have worked with the LQS team this year, they have also been inclusive and given support when needed. My team leader has supported me in everything this whether it be inside of work or ourtisde of work. The team have been very accomodating with working at home and in office. If I ever have any questions my team have been there to help with answering them with patience.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is very inclusive, welcoming anf friendly.
The TU-O-12 department are a real credit to the BMW Group and have ensured I have been supported throughout my placement.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have been overwhelmed with how much I have enjoyed the placement. I am really sad to be leaving as I will miss my collegaues and team massively. The environment they have enabled us to all work in has been great and supportive.

What advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK

Do not be affriad to jump in at the deep end, especially if your background knowlege is not great to start with you will soon pick up what the company culture and main targets are. Applying for challenging jobs may be daunting but I would do the year again in a heart beat. I have learnt more from this placement and my team than have in my first two years at university. The experience is unmatched.
