Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Learning how to complete basic audit tasks whilst being given an overview into the more complex roles and tasks that could be expected of you in the future should you choose a career in audit.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
It's hard to say as an intern as I'm just learning new skills and processes therefore it obviously doesn't make sense for them to leave me to my own devices. Which is understandable as big mistakes can be costly to both the firm and audited entities.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Plenty, We have a weekly check up as an intern with more experienced members of staff to ask any questions or resolve issues that have arisen. All interns were also given a buddy who is a first/second year trainee who are available to help if you're struggling with something.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Overall it was satisfactory but as I'm out at client's offices majority of the time I don't get to spend as much time within the BDO offices in and around the rest of the staff (out with my own team).

Go for it even if you're unsure about what they do as many interns I've met were in the same boat and end up being presently surprised.
