Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I helped with various tasks to help the corporate tax team. Including preparing tax computations, initial/further information requests and business development. I have helped draft proposals for new clients and onboarding for incoming clients. As well as regular shadowing of client calls and meetings with other sectors of the team.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was easy to understand exactly all the roles because we were set up various meetings with other teams who gave us short chats to explain there roles. They also helped volunteer themselves to introduce their roles to us.

I have learnt to improve time management skills and prioritising urgent tasks over others. I also have worked on my people skills and have become more confident talking to new people, especially those senior ones.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Company culture fitted the values they preach, with people being extremely welcome. Everyone was super nice and comforting and very supportive. People were hardworking but at the same time had a nice balance of social life. It was a nice environment during lunchtime and people were very friendly as well.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight and I am thoroughly impressed with the entire process. I feel very welcome to come back and join the next year. Felt very valued and enjoyed being involved in the team spirit. It made me excited to come back to work for KPMG in the future.
