Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Gained valuable experience working on four different audits (1 each week), with hybrid working. Worked most days in the office but a few from home. Visited client site twice during my internship which gave me great insight into the communication between KPMG and the clients. Day-to-day tasks were mainly excel based which included analysing depreciation, credit notes and much more.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was very interesting to learn about all the potential roles available and the clear career path you can follow within the company.

I've developed my excel skills during the scheme by learning several new shortcuts to speed up my work. I have also learnt new accounting skills as I do not study an accounting degree at university.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company had a very welcoming atmosphere and all my colleagues were incredibly helpful and guided me throughout the scheme answering any questions I had. There was a good work life balance within the office and there was never any pressure to stay in the office late.
